Well there’s no turning back now...This wallpaper jumped off the wall like this space was just waiting to be revamped! I have a plan for this space and I’m so excited to bring it to life! How many accent walls is too many? Asking for a friend.

Honestly, I’m so glad to be done working on my living room. I’m going to take a little break from all the remodeling and decorating and I’m going to enjoy just living in my house as it is. I think I’ll switch my focus to decluttering and making space for Christmas. Then of course we’ll put up our tree after Thanksgiving and pull out a few decorations, but nothing crazy. I think it’s so important stop and break the cycle of “busy” from time to time and appreciate where we are now. This time of year is perfect for that. Do you tend to slow down as the days get shorter and colder or are you always on to the next project?

Finally, the last part of my living room update is finished! #ad I was so intimidated to try out putting up wallpaper, but it made such a big impact in this room without forcing me to add a bunch of extra stuff. I settled on this fun leafy peel and stick wallpaper from @jossandmain. Definitely worth the struggle! Tomorrow I’ll be sharing all the before and afters for my #oneroomchallenge reveal. We’ve come a long way from the faded gold wallpaper that was here originally!

Just highlighting the oldest thing I own, this set of books from the 1800s that I found on my 30th birthday this year. Reading them is still on my to-do list. I thought this was appropriate as I share about Mary Queen of Scots in my stories today. Everything you never wanted to know! I’m obsessed with the history of royalty and love collecting old things. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten my hands on anything from the 1500s yet, but maybe someday 😂 I was almost tempted into buying some random trinket supposedly owned by a king of Spain on marketplace a few months ago, but I resisted. Do you have any idea what the oldest thing you own is?!

I’m not sure if you guys are sick of this view yet, but I’m not. I can just sit around staring at it all day 😍 Today I changed out the rug and finally put down this one from the rug cleaning saga a few weeks ago. (Basically I don’t recommend cleaning your rugs in your driveway - that process went bad on me 😂) Despite that mishap, this room is coming together so well. I’ve also got my @oneroomchallenge Week 2 post up on the blog to show you all the angled and let you know what’s next on the list! We’re making progress slowly but surely, the way I always seem to do it!

Dun dun dunnnnnnnn! I know installing two shelves

Dun dun dunnnnnnnn! I know installing two shelves isn’t that big of deal, but I’m so excited about how these turned out! I partnered with Birch Lane for a living room refresh and it resulted in making a huge change to this room that I wasn’t originally planning on doing at all. I’m so glad I put the time, effort and money into it though because now I enjoy spending time in this room so much more than I did when it was full of faded gold wallpaper. Check my stories for the before so you can appreciate the full transformation. I still have several plans for this space, but this was a good starting point!
