My new desk from @fillmorevintage fits perfectly i

My new desk from @fillmorevintage fits perfectly in this spot in my sunroom. 😍 This is definitely the room I want to spend my time working in. Now I just need to hang a plant shelf above it and find a nice chair! This will be my first dedicated work space since...ever. 😂 Do you have a place in your home to work or do you just do everything from the couch/bed like I have been?

What a day! Choosing a stain color for our floors

What a day! Choosing a stain color for our floors was enough to do me in. The hardwood goes throughout the main level, so even though we’re only refinishing the bedrooms right now, this decision holds some weight. We ended up going with weathered oak, and I think it was the right choice. I can’t wait to see it with the top coat tomorrow! After these are sealed in, then we move to skim coating the walls, then painting, then moving on in. Things are rolling right along!

The past 12 hours have been a whirlwind. We closed

The past 12 hours have been a whirlwind. We closed on our house at 9am and spent the whole day there giving tours and starting a few projects. I’m not a super “meant to be person” but this one just feels right. Even though none of our stuff is there yet, it felt so nice to spend the day there. It took a while to find the right house, but everything lined up perfectly for this one and now I feel fortunate that the other houses I loved didn’t work out. I’m super excited to keep plugging away at projects and move in in a couple weeks!

40 days til closing: I realized a few days ago that our bed will be under a window no matter how we position it in the new house, so my headboard isn’t going to work anymore 😭😭😭 I feel like this is going to be an interesting design challenge. Obviously we’ll need a blackout shade. But then do we add curtains or not? So many decisions. In other news, I think I finally figured out why my insta pictures aren’t always very clear even when I use my fancy camera, turns out photo size matters...duh 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hopefully this one is better.

41 days left til closing on the new house - but who's counting? There is literally nothing else for me to focus on right now. Now I'm just stalking facebook marketplace and buying new pieces of furniture here and there to fill the time. But did you see the midcentury desk I snagged that's in my stories? I've remodeled the house a million times in my head based on my shoddy memory and the photos I've looked at over and over and over. Every hour basically feels like a million years right now but it will be here before we know it, right?! What are you waiting on in quarantine?
